Holy Land Tour
by Pryanthi REGIE

CAIRO - EGYPT
Day 1- 9th April 2011
This tour is a dream of my lifetime and I had done all my preparations to make this most memorable moments of my life. Most people who want to do this tour end up not making it in their life time. Even my mother could go there only at the age of 70. At least my beautiful boys Abi and Jebi are more fortunate that they even had the opportunity to get Baptised in Jordan river, where Jesus himself was Baptised. I have great pleasure in bringing this memory to life with fabulous photographs and memorable incidents. I hope you enjoy reading my journal and post your comments.

Why Egypt is holy land?
Moses was born to daughter of Levi as goodly child. She hid him three months and when she could not do so any longer she put him in a ark of bulrushes and put him by the Nile riverside. Pharaoh daughter, who came to river for wash and took the child and brought him up in her palace. During this time Israelites were in slavery for 400 yrs, it was Moses who freed them from slavery.

We started our holy land tour from Melbourne transit via Malaysia and Doha to Cairo. We arrived at Cairo airport on the 9th of April 2011 at 03.30 local time, where Pastor Rafael, the organizer for this tour and Guide Peter was waiting for us. Although we were all dead tired after long travel, we were all enthusiastic about starting our first sight seeing to Coptic church and ride in the river Nile in a Felucca.

It was a beautiful cool evening and we enjoyed an hour long ride in the river Nile. The city view and its lights were magnificent and unforgettable. In the coptic church we were shown a well, at the rear end of the church protected by wall and wire mesh, which was used by Mary, Joseph and Jesus. After a long tiring day, we booked in to Zoser Hotel, Cairo. Dinner was fantastic and we had gone to prepare for tomorrows visit to Giza, the great Pyramids of Egypt.
